The silence in Black & White

Andre Poli is a Photographer and Creative Director that is always on the look to capture the perfect shot of darkness and enlightenment.

12 cigarettes — Place de Passy, Paris, France 2018

Andre portrays his subjects going about their journeys — being themselves — without them having the notion that they are being captured. They exist momentarily just for his lenses.

Way to Paradise — Tate Modern, London, UK 2017

“I don't want to know who they are and neither for them to know who I am”

There's a certain mistery shooting in black & white that Andre likes to explore — it simplifies the message that he is trying to convey with his images.

A breath of light — The Vatican, Rome, Italy 2017

The shadow of a Monk — Meiji Jingu Shrine, Tokyo 2018

He also portrays the relationship of humans and the places that they find themselves, he believes that the stillness of a place can define and reveal who the subject really is.

Symbolic Importance

Keith Richards
